She put her phone down on her lap and rested her hand on it, making sure she’d feel any notice from her phone.

Sunlight bled through the blinds revealing the swirls of dust floating above Ashley’s head. The room was dark and a mess more scattered than the flurries in the air. Papers were strewn across the floor, her desk chair was thrown over, and drawers had come flying out scattering their contents around the room. A menace Ashley thought she had left behind inexplicably lay atop her dresser. Eyes wide and jaw dropped she dared not move. The Mask’s next surprise could put her through some horrible transformation.
Why the fuck did I keep this thing? She would have questioned how it got out of the dresser too but she hadn’t exactly investigated its other ‘properties’ thoroughly either.
